The Woodbine School District is a single building rural school district that houses students in preschool through eighth grade. Currently, the school has an enrollment of 250 students. The students from Woodbine Elementary School attend Middle Township High School, Cape May County Vocational School, as well as other private and charter schools for their secondary education.
The Woodbine School District provides a full-day early childhood preschool program for three and four year old students supported by the NJ Department of Education Expansion grant. Its goal is to implement a quality comprehensive program that provides child-centered learning experiences and preparation for preschool children. The kindergarten program continues an emphasis upon developmentally appropriate learning activities, along with a greater focus upon acquiring a foundation for success in elementary school.
Our instruction continues to be guided by the New Jersey Core Curriculum Content Standards. For those students who require further reinforcement, additional classroom teachers provide in-class support to strengthen basic skills in reading, writing, and mathematics. Students are identified as a result of teacher observation, state assessment results, and report card grades. The district continues to employ very caring and giving teachers that meet the New Jersey standards for being highly qualified.
Staff development at Woodbine Elementary School is implemented on an on-going basis and in accordance with the district's professional development plan. The district is committed to addressing priority needs, enabling students to meet the New Jersey Core Curriculum Content Standards. Most of Woodbine Elementary School's on-site professional development opportunities have been provided within the school year and during two full-day professional staff training sessions.
Our technology program has utilized federal funds and donations to train teachers and connect the entire school to the internet. Each of our 1st - 8th grade students are provided with laptop computers. Our preschool is equipped with Ipads. We have a technology integration specialist that supports technology use in the classroom, to maximize its effect on learning.

Woodbine Elementary School supports the Positive Behavior Support In Schools (PBSIS) to reinforce positive behavior with students and "Ram Bucks" are awarded for those students that show responsibility, kindness, fairness, and respect. Student names are drawn monthly for prizes. In addition, each month teachers nominate a "Student of the Month" based on character traits.
Daily announcements at Woodbine Elementary School begin with every student reciting the school's motto, "Today will be my day. I am the best me there is. I am kind. I am smart. I am important. I can do it, I know I can!"
We challenge our students, staff, and parents to become active participants in the quest for educational excellence. At Woodbine Elementary School, where there is, "Progress in the Making", our goal is to ensure a safe, creative, stimulating, and caring environment that promotes self esteem, sound character, responsibility, and respect for all.
